Confirmed COVID-19 Case - 01/31/2021
January 31, 2021

Dear Reynolds Families, Faculty, and Staff,

This letter is to notify you that an individual associated with a visiting varsity boys basketball team that competed at Reynolds Junior Senior High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the school on January 28, 2021. The District has conducted contact tracing and notified affected individuals.

In response, Reynolds has taken the following precautions:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing the building.
  • Notifying identified close contacts, who will quarantine as required.
  • In the event that additional close contacts (any individual within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) are identified, those contacts should be called by the Department of Health Department.
Because our staff were able to complete the above-referenced measures, including additional cleaning over the weekend, Reynolds Junior Senior High School will remain open on Monday, February 1, 2020. The building’s 14-day rolling case count will also be reset to zero.

As a reminder, if you or your child experiences any of these symptoms, please contact your medical provider:
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
More information on the symptoms of COVID-19 can be found on the PA Department of Health website or on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

The District is closely monitoring this situation and will notify staff and families if any additional actions need to be taken.

Sincerely,

John Sibeto
Superintendent of Schools
