RES Wellness Fair

Reynolds Elementary hosted a wellness Fair recently.  The PTO was the sponsor with help from phys. ed. teacher, Katie Mild and reading teacher, Jen Blasko.  Various venders were present to provide information about health, wellness, and recreational programs available to the community.  The vendors spanned many areas.  The Greenville Library was there to inform parents and students about the upcoming summer reading programs.  Morris Chiropractic gave information and the students were able to build a spinal column with candy to see how the skeleton relates with this hands on activity.  “The Teddy Bear Clinic” was represented by a professor and physician assistant candidate from Slippery Rock University.   This group goes out and helps young children be less frightened about a well check-up and immunizations.  The Central Community Church had information about their upcoming VBS program, Gotta Move!  Redick’s Family Martial Arts had information concerning classes they offer.  Walberg Family Pharmacies was represented by Dr. Matt Shollenbarger.  One could hear Information concerning some of the special offers, such as pill packs and delivery services they offer to their customers.  The Primary Health Network and UPMC Jamison had representatives there to answer questions.  P.R.E.P. Fitness had a representative to explain their programs.  Dental care information was represented by Dr. Mong’s Dentistry.   Thiel College had information about the college and community involvement.  Representatives from “Power Up”, part of Adagio Health, provided information on nutrition and exercise.  You could even plant a spinach plant to take home.  A special thank you to organizations for their donations:  Sparkle for bottles of water, Reynolds PTO for financial assistance, YMCA for a door prize to raffle, and UPMC for fruit.
