Reynolds Elementary hosted a wellness Fair recently.
The PTO was the sponsor with help from phys. ed. teacher, Katie Mild and
reading teacher, Jen Blasko. Various venders were present to provide
information about health, wellness, and recreational programs available to the
community. The vendors spanned many areas. The Greenville Library
was there to inform parents and students about the upcoming summer reading
programs. Morris Chiropractic gave information and the students were able
to build a spinal column with candy to see how the skeleton relates with this
hands on activity. “The Teddy Bear Clinic” was represented by a professor
and physician assistant candidate from Slippery Rock University.
This group goes out and helps young children be less frightened about a
well check-up and immunizations. The Central Community Church had
information about their upcoming VBS program, Gotta Move! Redick’s
Family Martial Arts had information concerning classes they offer.
Walberg Family Pharmacies was represented by Dr. Matt Shollenbarger. One
could hear Information concerning some of the special offers, such as pill
packs and delivery services they offer to their customers. The Primary
Health Network and UPMC Jamison had representatives there to answer questions.
P.R.E.P. Fitness had a representative to explain their programs. Dental
care information was represented by Dr. Mong’s Dentistry. Thiel
College had information about the college and community involvement.
Representatives from “Power Up”, part of Adagio Health, provided information on
nutrition and exercise. You could even plant a spinach plant to take
home. A special thank you to organizations for their donations:
Sparkle for bottles of water, Reynolds PTO for financial assistance, YMCA for a
door prize to raffle, and UPMC for fruit.
